Original Japanese shihans? Who do you mean? Do you mean Hatsumi's original students?

I believe the original shihans were: Senno, Oguri, Manaka, Ishizuka, Shiraishi, Noguchi, and Muramatsu. The next question is; do the Japanese Shihan even have grades? You say Nagato was a judan when soke made his first videos but have you seen a menkyo of his?

The original Shihan are Manaka but he has left, Tanamura he has also left, Ishizuka, Oguri, Noguchi, Nagato, Kan, Senno, and Kobayashi who has also left. I believe Muramatsu came sometime after the others but he has also left. Shiraishi was trained by Noguchi. And yes the Japanese do have grades and yes you can see thier menkyo if you are invited to thier houses. I have seen several of the Shihans menkyo so I speak from first hand knowlege.

The title Shihan means Master Teacher/Instructor and is only awarded to the people of Kudan (9th dan) and over.

How serious do I take training?... How serious do you take life?........

Alot of stuff is like that. Having just gotten out of the Army, i can definately vouch for that.

I knew alot of Privates and lower ranking soldiers that were much better people/soldiers than many of the Sergeants.
Sad. :P
